Myths about ADHD

Myth: ADHD is a disease of hyperactivity or poor attention.

Fact: ADHD does account for hyperactivity in an individual, but the symptoms associated with ADHD can affect a person in many other different ways. ADHD is a complex disorder that involves impairments in focus, organization, motivation, memory, and other functions of the brain’s management system. Many people who experience ADHD complain they have trouble planning at work, and also having difficulty managing daily chores at home.
