Myths about Child Depression

Myth: Depression in children and teens is due to trauma and bad parenting.

Fact: Although trauma can be a contributing factor in some patients, depression is definitely not due to bad parenting. Disorders like anxiety and depression can be caused by a variety of reasons but are the result of biological factors. Have a psychiatrist evaluate your child with a complete diagnostic evaluation. Depression is medical. Depression is treatable.
