10 Jul Myths about Child Depression
Myth: Your child must look sad to be depressed.
Fact: A child with depression may not look sad, but that does not mean they aren’t experiencing depression. Most children do not appear to be despondent or down. Many express their depression through behavioral changes such as becoming more irritable and having more frequent mood swings. Alongside irritability, other symptoms of depression in children and teens are social withdrawal and sudden, irregular changes in personality or behavior.
