27 Jun Myths about Insomnia
People with insomnia don’t sleep at all. I don’t have insomnia because I sleep at least four hours a night.
Contrary to popular belief, insomnia is not a condition that just prevents you from sleeping. Insomnia is defined as the feeling of bad quality or inadequate sleep. Even if you sleep for seven hours but still wake up tired, you have insomnia since the quality of your sleep is not good. Waking up suddenly a few times a night, even over the span of a few hours, could be a sign that something is wrong with your sleeping patterns.
In addition, insomnia causes problems at night AND during the day. Some symptoms you may experience include irritability, difficulty concentrating, and/or a feeling of low energy.
